Terms & Conditions
Last updated: June 24, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing campliftoff.org, creating an account, or enrolling a camper in any Camp Liftoff program, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use our website or services.
You must be at least 18 years of age and a parent or legal guardian of the camper being enrolled. By registering, you represent that you have the legal authority to agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and your child.
In addition to these terms, participation in Camp Liftoff requires completion of the following supplemental agreements through the parent portal:
- Medical Information & Emergency Contact Form
- Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk
- Photo & Video Release Authorization
- Range Safety Agreement
These forms are incorporated into and supplement these Terms & Conditions. In the event of a conflict between these terms and a supplemental form, the supplemental form shall govern with respect to the subject matter it covers.
2. Eligibility
Camp Liftoff is open to students entering grades 6 through 8 (approximately ages 11–14) at the time of enrollment. Students who are entering 6th grade in the upcoming fall are eligible. Camp Liftoff reserves the right to verify eligibility and may request proof of grade level or age.
All campers must be registered by a parent or legal guardian. Campers do not create their own accounts. No prior rocketry or engineering experience is required.
3. Program Description
Camp Liftoff offers a hands-on aerospace engineering program featuring rocketry, CAD design, and real rocket launches. The program is structured as follows:
- Two sessions per summer: Session A (July 6–24) and Session B (August 3–21)
- Each session runs three weeks, Monday through Thursday, for a total of 12 instructional days
- Core camp hours: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- Optional Early Dropoff add-on: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM
- Optional Extended Learning add-on: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Capacity is limited to 36 students per session
Camp Liftoff reserves the right to modify the schedule, curriculum, activities, instructors, or venue for safety, operational, or educational reasons. We will notify registered families of material changes as promptly as reasonably possible.
4. Registration and Enrollment
Enrollment is not confirmed until all of the following have been completed:
- Parent/guardian account created and email verified
- Camper information submitted through the parent portal
- All required forms (Medical Information, Liability Waiver, Photo Release, Range Safety Agreement) signed digitally
- Tuition payment received in full, or a financial assistance award confirmed
Spots are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Submitting a registration form does not guarantee enrollment if the session has reached capacity. All required forms must be completed before the camper’s first day of camp.
5. Tuition and Payment
- Base camp tuition: $499.99 per session
- Early Dropoff add-on: $49.99 per session
- Extended Learning add-on: $399.99 per session
All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Camp Liftoff does not store credit card numbers on its servers. Tuition is due by the following deadlines:
- Session A: June 15
- Session B: July 15
Failure to submit payment by the applicable due date may result in forfeiture of the enrolled spot. Camp Liftoff will send payment reminders before the deadline, but it is the parent’s responsibility to ensure timely payment.
6. Refund and Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be submitted in writing by emailing thesummerrocketrycamp@gmail.com. Refunds are determined based on when the cancellation is received relative to the first day of the applicable session:
- 30 or more days before the session start date: full refund minus a $25 administrative fee
- 15–29 days before the session start date: 50% refund
- Within 14 days of the session start date or after the session has begun: no refund
Medical or emergency exception: If a camper is unable to attend due to a documented medical emergency or serious family emergency, Camp Liftoff may, at its sole discretion, issue a prorated refund or a credit toward a future session. Documentation may be required.
If Camp Liftoff cancels a session for any reason (including insufficient enrollment or unforeseen circumstances), a full refund will be issued to all affected families. Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 14 business days.
7. Financial Assistance
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Camp Liftoff is committed to making aerospace education accessible. Need-based scholarships are available and may cover up to 100% of tuition. Financial assistance applications are reviewed confidentially, and all decisions are final. Scholarship recipients are subject to all other terms and policies outlined in this agreement.
8. Code of Conduct
Camp Liftoff is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment. All campers are expected to:
- Treat staff, fellow campers, and volunteers with respect
- Follow all safety instructions from staff and Range Safety Officers
- Handle equipment, tools, and materials responsibly
- Participate constructively in all activities
- Remain in designated areas at all times unless directed otherwise by staff
The following conduct is prohibited:
- Bullying, harassment, discrimination, or intimidation of any kind
- Possession of weapons, drugs, alcohol, or other prohibited items
- Unauthorized use of camp equipment or technology
- Leaving designated camp areas without staff permission
- Violation of launch range safety rules
Conduct violations will be addressed through progressive discipline, which may include verbal warning, parent/guardian notification, temporary suspension from activities, or dismissal from the program. Camp Liftoff staff have sole discretion in determining appropriate consequences. No refund will be issued for dismissal due to conduct violations.
9. Safety and Assumption of Risk
Camp Liftoff follows the safety standards of the National Association of Rocketry (NAR) and complies with all applicable local fire safety codes. A certified Range Safety Officer (RSO) is present at all rocket launch activities, and safety glasses are required during all launch operations.
Participation in Camp Liftoff activities involves inherent risks, including but not limited to minor injuries from tools, materials, or equipment; risks associated with model rocket launches; outdoor activity risks such as heat exposure, insect bites, and physical exertion; and transportation risks during field trips. By enrolling your child, you acknowledge these risks.
Full details regarding assumption of risk and liability are set forth in the separate Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk form and the Range Safety Agreement, which must be signed before participation.
10. Weather and Cancellations
Outdoor launch activities are weather-dependent. If weather conditions prevent safe outdoor activities, Camp Liftoff will provide alternative indoor instruction for the affected day. In the event of severe weather or unsafe conditions that prevent camp from operating entirely, Camp Liftoff will notify parents by email as early as reasonably possible.
Cancelled days will be rescheduled when possible. If weather-related cancellations result in more than 3 missed camp days within a single session, Camp Liftoff will offer a prorated credit toward a future session for the missed days beyond the third. Individual weather cancellations do not otherwise qualify for refunds.
11. Health and Medical
Parents are required to complete the Medical Information & Emergency Contact form and disclose all known allergies, medical conditions, and current medications before the camper’s first day. Parents are responsible for updating this information if anything changes before or during the session.
By signing the Medical Information form, parents authorize Camp Liftoff staff to administer basic first aid and, in a medical emergency, to seek professional medical treatment if the parent cannot be reached. The parent or guardian is responsible for all medical costs incurred.
Campers who present symptoms of a communicable illness must stay home. Camp Liftoff reserves the right to send a camper home if they arrive with symptoms that may pose a risk to others. No refund is provided for days missed due to illness.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Camp Liftoff, Inc., its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and agents shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, or expense arising from participation in camp activities, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct by Camp Liftoff.
Camp Liftoff carries general liability insurance. In no event shall Camp Liftoff’s total aggregate liability exceed the amount of tuition paid by the parent for the applicable session.
This limitation applies to all claims, whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other legal theory. Full waiver and release terms are set forth in the separate Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk form.
13. Photo and Video
Camp Liftoff documents activities through photography and video for educational, promotional, and archival purposes. Details of how photos and videos are used are set forth in the separate Photo & Video Release Authorization form.
Parents may opt out of the photo and video release. Campers whose parents opt out will not appear in any public-facing materials. Camp Liftoff retains ownership of all photos and videos captured by staff during camp activities. Images will not be sold to third parties. Parents may request removal of specific images at any time by contacting thesummerrocketrycamp@gmail.com.
14. Intellectual Property
The Camp Liftoff name, logo, curriculum materials, website content, and all related intellectual property are the property of Camp Liftoff, Inc. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from Camp Liftoff materials without prior written permission.
Campers retain ownership of the rockets and projects they build during the program. Camp Liftoff may photograph or reference anonymized project work for educational and promotional purposes, subject to the Photo & Video Release Authorization.
15. Communications
By creating an account and enrolling a camper, you consent to receive emails regarding camp logistics, schedule changes, safety updates, payment reminders, and other administrative matters. These are transactional and operational communications, not marketing.
You may opt out of non-essential communications by contacting us, but you may not opt out of safety-critical, enrollment-related, or payment-related messages while your camper is enrolled in an active session.
16. Privacy and Data Protection
Camp Liftoff is committed to protecting the privacy of our families. We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Campers do not create their own accounts; all camper data is managed by the parent or guardian through the parent portal.
We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Registration data is retained for 3 years after a camper’s last enrollment, then deleted unless required by law.
For full details on data collection, usage, storage, and your rights, please review our Privacy Policy.
17. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these terms or participation in Camp Liftoff shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation between the parties. If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within 30 days, it shall be submitted to binding arbitration in King County, Washington, administered under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. Each party shall bear its own costs and attorney’s fees unless the arbitrator determines otherwise.
You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted on an individual basis and not as part of a class, consolidated, or representative action.
18. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Camp Liftoff, Inc., its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your camper’s conduct during camp activities; (b) your breach of these Terms & Conditions; or (c) your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party.
19. Modifications
Camp Liftoff reserves the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered families and reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
Your continued use of the website or enrollment of a camper in a Camp Liftoff session after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree to any changes, you must discontinue use of our services and contact us regarding your enrollment.
20. Severability and Contact
If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
